Sometimes that's my way of saying, listen to the song because it answers better than I could in words.

There's very few people who're worthy of the time and energy it takes to hate someone. Same as love. But the opposite of love isn't hatred, it's rage. There's a difference, a big one. Love and hate are the same side of one coin. They both require passion and drive and commitment... and if someone out there thinks I hate them, odds are they're flattering themselves.

Hate's safer than love. You're sort of asking me if I drive as fast on a motorcycle as I do in my car, with that question...
