Do you have any plan for how you'll deal with Imp wanting a facebook/livejournal/etc account when she's old enough?

We're talking about it quite a bit. She already has accounts on some of the kid oriented sites like Webkinz, and if she moves on to wanting a FB or what have you, she understands that we will be closely monitoring it, and why. We don't hold back on showing her all the things Internet predators can do; I'm not sure anything can prepare her for incidents of anon bullying as occurred recently other than showing it to her, and explaining how horrible people can be when they think they're hiding behind an anonymous shield of cowardice. We are also showing her how to cope with those; how an "anon" can give themselves away in a multitude of fashions, a little bit CSI if you will, and how to address just how vile people can be to one another when they think it doesn't matter.

Do you swear a lot when you speak?

It depends on the company present. If I'm around people for whom it would be either prudent or respectful (or both) to be as couth as possible toward, so I am.

Outside of that? Again, it depends, but I can tend towards cursing like a drunken sailor if I'm in certain moods or amongst friends who're doing the same.

Oddly enough, you can tell I'm on the edge of absolute rage when I'm speaking in an incredibly clipped tone but not swearing at -all-...

One naked night with Gustav or Georg? Who do you choose?

Well... all you said is naked, which could imply anything from skinnydipping to sauna to dancing like lunatics around a bonfire, (all things I've done naked at night) and might have nothing to do with anything else at all...

..or did you mean to imply something more might go on? Because the answers are different when I know the real question...

Since I can't figure out your twitter question - which Tea Party song would you like to hear TH do?

I don't honestly know if they could. Jeff Martin's a baritone. It'd be a hell of a key change to make any of their stuff work with Bill's voice.

I could see them being attracted to "Empty Glass" simply because it's a Bowie tribute... if you knocked that one up an octave or so they could probably carry it off.

Have you ever SEXTED??~~

Nah. I'm married. I don't have to. ;)

If TH were going to cover an Afi song, which one would you want to hear? What if you could have two, or five?

Oh god.

See, it'd depend how many pair of clean shorts I had available...

End Transmission. Hnghhhhhffgghhhh....

The Interview. I think I'd cry.

Wester.

Morningstar.

This Celluloid Dream.

Um, do I have to stop here?

Cos if I get to reverse the question, I'd give my left nut to hear AFI cover just about any TH. Jade's remix doesn't count.

I could hear Havok doing RSG pretty well, but good goddamn can you picture him singing Humanoid? Or the bass treatment Hunter could give that track? GNUH.

Ok, better question - is there an Afi song you think TH couldn't do well?

Oh of course. I don't see Bill EVER being able to do much of the vocal style straight up to Black Sails, though he could probably do the REALLY early stuff (Rolling Balls anyone? Bwahah).

And just in general, Tom is not up to snuff as a guitarist to be able to do any of Jade's solo work -- they'd have to use electronic fill or something.

Anything Havok really screams on.... no.
I mean, can you hear him trying to do Kill Caustic or Death of Seasons, or Affliction? Please.

Kid just doesn't have it in him yet. And frankly if he's as prone to vocal cord injury as he seems, needing surgery so early on, he shouldn't ever try. At least not without a LOT of training.

what is the most beautiful thing you have read in a fanfic?

That's difficult to quantify.

Beauty as in a simply sublime turn of phrase, or beauty in the concept and imagery? I've found both, they're not mutually exclusive.

are you a sexual person?

Er... I'm certainly not celibate...

What gift(s) did you and your significant other exchange this holiday season?

I don't have a "significant other". I have a husband. State of Massachusetts says so.

which TH lyric would you get tattooed?

I've been thinking on this for awhile now, since my left sleeve is all lyrics and artist tributes.

Part of me is a bit reluctant to get any TH ink just yet, because I don't know who actually wrote those specific words with the exception of those few songs which only TH wrote. And without any direct way of asking, there's no way to find out.

I'd be really turned off if I got something now, and a few years down the line it comes out Benzner or Roth or one of their other collaborators actually wrote it with very little input from TH themselves.

So that sort of leaves me with what, WSNA and Unendlichkeit?

Does Christmas leave you feeling loved or empty?

Our Yule party leaves a happy glow; that's our 'spiritual' ceremony as well as getting to see friends and share good food and good times.

Xmas eve I tend to dread altogether.

Xmas day is just kind of a drag, though when it goes well, like this year's did, just the two of us chilling with my moms and my dad and watching the kid open her loot it's okay.

What, to you, is the best thing about winter?

Watching all the birds that come to my feeders.

What is one thing you own that you would be okay with giving up/giving away? What is one thing you own that you could never part with for anything?

I could give away my TV pretty easily, though I'd be cranky at not being able to play Rock Band. We only use it for movies and XBox, haven't had cable in 20 years now.

There's no material thing that outweighs "anything" if the threat involved losing friends or family.

That aside, I'd be really, really, really fucking aggravated at losing a few things like photos or other mementos from people I cared about, and without a computer of some sort I lose most of my social world as well as a great deal of my art and writing.

What is the one activity you do most in a day? Check your emails? Walk around the house? Eat? XD

Look after my family. Two and four foots both.

Why are you so awesome? :p

Do you drink calorie free/sugarfree drinks or go for the normal option? Why?

Splenda aka sucralose, honey, agave or stevia-sweetened only.

HFCS is poison and so is aspartame aka Nutrasweet. Saccharine just tastes nasty; the supposed "causes cancer" link from the 80s was disproved awhile ago.

To wit: Nutrasweet gives me migraines in small doses and seizures in large ones, and my child develops UTIs whenever she's allowed non-diet soda more than a few times a week. I know Splenda isn't all that great for you either, but I don't react badly to it.

Soda in general is one of the worst things on the planet you can put into yourself; if you're like me and need your caffeine fix anyway, you're better off with the sucralose/acesulfame or even natural cane sugar before HFCS or aspartame.

I don't like sweetener in my coffee in the first place, so that's moot, but I'll use honey, stevia, or raw sugar in tea if I'm in the mood.

Most of what I drink is water with stevia, either the drops or the powder.

What about On The Edge?

And thanks to anachan and Onerva, we have the truth of it now, inspired by the book Christiane F. which became a movie.

Ain't the internets great sometime?

I never heard a drugs angle from it but now you've said it I get why people might say that. I always saw it as someone looking at a cutter from the outside and not really understanding. Why don't you listen to it much?

It doesn't do anything for me musically, and to be perfectly honest all the "she" references put me off a little. I don't listen to Stich ins Glück either simply because the melody doesn't get me, I find it one of the weakest tracks on the record melodically regardless of the lyrical content. Just don't much care for it.

Have at it.

What about On The Edge?

I actually never listen to this one, I had to go back and remind myself of it just now. Most of that album I only listen to the German versions anyway.

I've heard it's about shooting drugs but I don't see that in the lyrics so much as a clumsy attempt at describing a cutter.

That's an interesting perspective. What about Attention? to me that reads the same way.

There's definitely some shared aspects there, yeah. I think the other writers took Attention in a more "could be about a specific someone" direction, but the initial inspiration may well have been the same; it certainly reads that way. There's a bit more personal-to-Bill writing in those lyrics though.

What's your interpretation of Automatic?

To me it's a bit of a swipe at the fans who scream "I love you", say it in fanmail and everywhere else. Perhaps it's not spiteful, just a reality check... and an admission in there that even knowing "there's no real love" there, they still need to hear it.
