Is there anything we could say or do to make you smile, that is actually within our ability to say or do?
no.
...please don't ask me just what i think...
...trust me you don't want to know...
no.
Depends on the time of day.
Need the exact minute, if possible.
I try to model my behavior after that concept. "What would I want a friend to do for me in this situation?"
But I'm sure I'd drive myself insane after awhile.
Sun in Libra, Moon in Virgo
You are of service to those in authority, and people often take advantage of your compliance. Life places you in positions that require you to defer to the wishes of others. In love you are timid and wait for someone else to take the initiative in establishing a relationship. It is difficult for you to relax. Many factors contribute to a perpetual state of tension, which is expressed in your finicky attitude. You cannot relax your criticism of yourself and others, and you often exasperate people with your fault-finding. Ruled by your head, you weigh everything a thousand times before reaching a decision. One result of this overly thorough examination is that you lose sight of the whole. While your individuality seeks inner rest, your obsession with details and exactitude mars your peace of mind. The key to a more harmonious self lies in relaxing your rigid standards of judgment. Your inner nature seeks companionship, and you should give others the chance to recognize that you are basically an affectionate and communicative individual.
Ascendant in Capricorn, Saturn in the Eleventh House
At the time of your birth the zodiacal sign of Capricorn was ascending in the horizon. Its ruler Saturn is located in the eleventh house.
The sign of Capricorn denotes an existence in which temperament is very important. You will give an image of ambition, persistence, will power, consistency and perseverance. You were born with the tendencies to seek material, social, and, perhaps, even political power.
Capricorn tends to a challenging life which forces you to exert all your resources in order to triumph. Because of your tact and prudence, you will be favored with the good will of important people.
Your mind is egocentric, rational and you have a natural tendency toward scepticism. Able to work hard, you will bear obstacles and frustrations with patience.
You will proceed with prudence in your love life and in all other activities. You will seriously consider all of the ramifications of a relationship, especially the aspects of your independence, and you will not commit yourself to a partner until you are sure of your choice. After that however there is a tendency to conduct a peaceful and quiet life.
You are very economical in your daily activities, and if you do not exert some control over this trait, it could appear as rather mean.
You are best placed in governmental, municipal, political, or large business organizations where hierarchy is very exactly defined. The key word for your professional orientation is responsibility.
This position indicates that a greater part of your life will be dedicated to the completion of interesting and favorable friendships. There will not be much element of chance in your existence. Your temperament likes method and causality, leaving little margin for unpredictable events or luck.
oon in the Eighth House
The Moon was found in your eighth house at the time of birth. Since the Moon has intense qualities of perception, you may find that gradually there is an awakening of interests in sexual matters, psychic and spiritualistic research, and much mental speculation with ideas concerning the possibilities of existence after death.
At some point of your existence there will be possibilities of inheritance through members of the female sex or the maternal side of your family.
Venus in the Ninth House
Venus was found in the ninth house at the time of birth. Your mind appears as very adaptable, gentle, peace-loving and tactful. This position indicates that the secret for your ability to reach a state of harmony and emotional balance may come through the use of your higher mental powers. You have been born with an exquisitely refined, artistic mind which has a very subtle appreciation of all that has to do with culture. Your disposition is kind, congenial, gentle and sympathetic and you have a natural ability to assist other individuals.
This position gives you much social intercourse with intellectual persons and success derived therefrom.
Merely minor disabilities will affect you in your intellectual endeavors. The worst that could happen would be an overly inquisitive, indecisive nature that never seems to be satisfied. However, you have within you the ability to avoid these psychological obstacles.
Sun in the Tenth House
The Sun was in the tenth house at the time of birth. The Sun here promises honor, success, and prestige in adult life. Publicly you appear as a vital, proud, powerful person. Your individuality has the need to manifest itself publicly and often to foist its energy on others. You have come to life with a satisfactory physical and moral heredity and you are going to acquire the favorable disposition of many persons of power to assist you in your ascent through life.
Your liabilities include an exaggerated pride, arrogance and a tendency to rely too much on your own resources.
Saturn in the Eleventh House
Saturn was found in the eleventh house at the time of birth. Psychologically, this denotes a rather hidden and limited view of your personal ambitions, your friendships, and of your future. You're very ambitious, cautious, just, patient, responsible, but perhaps, too serious.
You're an individual with few friends and even there you may find that some of them will assist you with advice rather than with actual help in times of peril.

Dog. Dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog.
I've actually done a variant on this IRL. No question... dog.
The MFYankees one. While wearing a Red Sox shirt and cap. Because then they have to go through the REST OF THEIR LIVES knowing they owe a Sox fan their very existence. MUAHAHAHAHAHAH.
...The damn crabs would survive anyway.
That's usually at 'silly hour', 2 or 3AM, when all you have to do is look at someone the wrong way and it's hilarious for no reason at all... or when we're all out at a restaurant or something and there's a good vibe going. Getting together and laughing a lot is sometime the only way to deal with stress.
*makes room in the kitchen for yr stuff* XD
I do think some of it has to do with the demographics of the fan base. I watched the same thing happen with AFI after the release of Decemberunderground, when we had a sudden influx into the fandom of what some of us termed "Miss Murder girls", who behaved in exactly the same way with the flaming and the jealousy and the hatred and the selfishness and the thoughtlessness. It had a bad effect on the band, one which is still being felt a few years later in how the band's interactions with the fans have changed; the entire relationship between the band and the fans was irreversibly damaged and altered. I can't even fathom how it must be for TH to have had this dynamic the ENTIRE TIME they've been in the public eye.
This is ABSOLUTELY not to say ZOMG ALL TEENAGE FEMALE FANS SUCK or ZOMG ALL NEW FANS SUCK -- it's a very specific type of person, with very specific social problems, and in no way can be applied as a blanket statement. There's just this sort of gestalt lack of respect in these people that gets applied to the band, other fans, the music, and anything else they can find a way to shit on if it glorifies them somehow.
Left - Can of Splenda Diet Coke and my Blu e-cig pack. (on my desk..)
Right - Husband's desk and chair.
Overshoulder - Rock Band drumkit.
So -- my addictions, my hobby, and one thing I don't use at all because it's not mine.
oh lord. this dog-awful cheese my dad had out at one of his parties. I actually ended up puking...
Pointless unless he moves to Germany and thus has somewhere to actually drive the thing...
gonna have to ask whoever's asking me all this... *eyes _goneaway_*
damn, I'll have to step up my recruiting. You know how we go.

"As you get older you will gain a bit more control over everything. Don't let anyone, even your parents, break you. Find good people who care about you and surround yourself with just them. If you can't find them at first, find good music and fall into it and let it hold you until they come..."
- Davey Havok, AFI
"If I am close to the music, and you are close to the music, we are close to each other."

oh noo.. darling you're getting your very own post. I just have to not have 2 feet of the Nashua River in my basement first..
I was at the secret show in NYC. They opened with it. I damn near had a coronary.
damn, it's a toaster oven now? I wanted the stereo...
ah yes, it's quite a responsibility you know. part of the gay agenda, right there alongside "pick up cat food" and "take out the trash"...
Ja, but it was neither of our style to begin with; we'd been friends for a few years before we got together, and it just took us awhile to get up the nerve to admit there was more there. I don't think we ever went on a single conventional "date".
man i've been married way too long to ever remember what 'dating' was even LIKE... but if I'd ever even conventionally 'dated' which I didn't, I think the perfect ending is one where you fall asleep reasonably confident that you didn't fuck anything up, but still have those butterflies in your stomach, and a smile on your face.
versus this one..

danke :)
Trying to remember that. Vielen dank.. 'liebe dich <3
well, you're GoneAway here...
I've been 'volare' online since 1992 so I try to use it everywhere; when it's already taken this is what I use.
I'm volare for the first car I owned, but it's garnered about a zillion people singing the Italian song 'Volare' at me over the years as well. The refrain for that song goes "volare, cantare"..
...still with me? okay, good. here's where it gets convoluted.
"Miseria Cantare" is the opening track to AFI's record "Sing the Sorrow" and probably one of the most powerful things I've ever heard. Raises the hair on the back of my neck every single time.
...see where I'm going with this? yeah.
after the last two days I needed one of these <333333
Suppose I'm guilty of the same somewhat with my own username here, though it's a play on two different songs really...
1) 1
2) Massachusetts. It's legal here, you know.
w00! sounds hawt XD
well the username tends to get the song stuck in my head...
Sure, the question becomes what piercing they go in ;) <3
The dog my parents had when I was born was a Belgian shepherd named Kuçuk. Turkish "Ka-chook". Means "little one". She lived til I was in fourth or fifth grade. All black, gorgeous dogs if you've never seen one -- http://www.pups4sale.com.au/belgian_shepherd_02a.jpg
Why Turkish? My mom spent several years living in Turkiye teaching English with the Peace Corps, spoke the language fluently, practically raised us in more Turkish culture than American. I spoke it pretty well as a kid but I've lost it all now.
Right now the Net is my connection to damn near everything and everyone. I'd be so fucked without it. Breaking my back pretty much destroyed my life as far as being active so connecting and being social is electronic these days.
Nrr? I'm not vegan.. not yet anyway, though I support those who are and I'm quite respectful of the lifestyle, and I try to be conscious of where anything and everything the household eats or uses comes from.
Cheap and cruelty-free generally aren't synonymous, though I'm certain you've already found that out. A lot of what we try to do is use things like boiling water, vinegar and baking soda for cleaning instead of chemical based cleaners, stuff like that.
I use a few sites to help with this; here's a few of them:
http://www.caringconsumer.com
http://www.leapingbunny.org/
http://www.idausa.org/facts/crueltyfree.html
I fully admit I can't always keep 100% to this; I just don't always have access to all the things I'd like to use in place of something worse.
Foundation, by Mercedes Lackey. Part of the Valdemar series, which I absolutely adore.
7th May 2007... eBay customer support, after I got ripped off. They didn't do jack shit about it either.
Don't own a working TV, didn't watch, everything I know about it came from ONTD... *shifty eyes*
Not that I remember, though my dog ate an entire box once, when I was about four. Apparently the byproduct thereof was quite fascinating...
I want all my autographed posters and things in frames on the walls. Thus, walls that will best display them...
aaw. heh, danke... I'm fond of it, it's the last big painting I was able to do before the nerve damage really hit my hands.
believe me, I've contemplated it.
or some flavor of knocking walls out and reconfiguring things up there in general. but it's all gotta wait until I'm mobile again...
My dad let my brother and I have at our bedroom walls at his house.. his reasoning was, it can always be painted over... same with hers. Though I'll miss that particular mural if she ever decides she wants it gone. She may get "too old for it" at some point...
I'm trying not to think about it too hard. -_-;;
We joke about sitting on the porch cleaning the guns and swords when she brings a suitor home, but the reality is a bit different.
it's.... oigh, there's been so much to do with this house it's been last on the list for awhile.
Have a look.. it's vile in its inoffensiveness

Close up:

But this is what i painted in kid's room:
http://pics.livejournal.com/volare/pic/00212906.jpg
i knooooooowwwww... it's inoffensive enough I suppose, I just can't stand it. The other two bedrooms were worse... this sort of narrow pinstripe pattern, one was blue and the other was brown. AWFUL.
They've since been stripped, replastered and repainted. I painted a mural on one side of the kiddo's room when we first moved in, and a sky with clouds and glow in the dark stars on her ceiling. The other one's green with white.
This is just a few of the transgressions committed against this 120+ year old farmhouse by the former owners.. don't get me started about the adhesive rug in the diningroom I had to scrape up bit by bit and refinish the entire floor after...
Scary beige-y silver stripey wallpaper put up by the previous owners. You have NO idea how much I loathe it.
1) Replace and re-seat the toilet and fix the floor around it
2) Repair the ceilings from the flood last year
3) Replace some windows
4) OR -- blow the whole thing on fixing up the bathroom entirely. New tub, new floor, new fixtures.
John A. O'Brien Parkway, for a beloved neighbor who passed on a few years ago. He was a fixture of my childhood and teens and the heart and soul of our area of Mission Hill. I miss him so much.
That's fairly similar to how the entire opening chapter goes, actually. He keeps wanting to tangent off and I'm all "dude, we have to at least TRY to stick with the prompt here"..
Thank you. I may let him have his tangents and see if I can work 'em in elsewhere or into something else.. sometime when I don't have a deadline...
A lot of "it's their problem for being closed-minded" type stuff, some explanation of the reasons people can be that way so she at least knows where it's coming from. Doesn't always help.
it's honestly the scariest thing in the entire universe.
all we can do is our best. and try to notice when we're not, and fix it as soon as we can. an awful lot of hindsight and sleepless nights, and all the planning ahead in the world can't get you ready for some situations.
she's a strong little kid... sometimes too strong, she feels like she can't always show when things are bothering her. so that's what we're up against right now.
she has her "Aunties", two of our closest friends, for 'girl stuff' and THANK DOG FOR THAT. they do give us some sense of the things she asks them but they also respect her privacy as much as possible and don't spill everything unless they think there's something we need to address. all things in balance...
of course. and "two grandmas" on top of that. (my moms). she's had some little bitch scream "THAT'S WRONG!!" in her face. it's maddening, it really is.
Typical "young fan", but there were people a lot more immature than you were on there who did irritate me; you aren't one of them.
It would have been something on the Series, but that's so long ago now I don't even remember :x
how is the imp doing? not mentally but physically healing wise.
PT took care of a lot of the swelling, transverse massage is encouraging the muscle to start absorbing the risers they had to put in to stitch the muscles back together. Has a consult for plastic surgery to look at cleaning up the scarring later this month, we'll see what they say. She's back to drumming, which is also good.
no need to be a grammer nazi why not just answer if theyre a real friend or a internet friend aka faker
As I said, I give as good as I get. If you expect me to spend a single second of my precious time on whoever you are, you'd better be worth it. Slack off and be lazy, and I'm not going to be arsed with you, other than to poke fun at poor grammar or txtspeak because it amuses me to do so.
I disagree with your dichotomy; someone can be a good friend without ever having met face to face, internet or no internet.
This goes back to the days of having "pen pals", when people were intelligent and coherent enough to actually put pen to paper and write to one another on a regular basis.
There are collections of these correspondences between people who sometimes never did meet face to face, or only did so after years and years of writing to one another, and they are fascinating. The depths to which these people came to know one another simply through their letters is astounding, and touching on many levels.
The same is possible through the internet today, obviously in a much more immediate fashion, and because it can move so much faster, a modicum of caution and common sense is required; just because you can IM with someone you've only just met, or webcam or Skype or whatever, doesn't mean you can trust a single thing they tell you. The speed with which you can allow someone into your life this way is something to be incredibly careful of, and unfortunately most people end up learning this the hard way.
It takes time to build that kind of trust with someone, and this is when the fakers generally slip up; they want to move too fast, the little details don't match up, the common patterns of drama start to emerge. You just have to use some sense.
So I suggest you expand your definitions a little bit; you may have had bad experiences with people online, as I certainly have, but a friend you mostly know via the internet does not automatically mean fake.
This particular individual is someone I've known for something like six years now, met through a shared music fandom, and despite the fact that we live in different countries and haven't had the opportunity to hang out in realtime, she is no less a friend to me than the people I see day to day. Hell, she's more involved and interested in my daughter's life than most of the people I'm related to.
A box of books arrived today, from this friend, for my daughter. I'm immensely grateful that I'm not having to explain to my kid that they're a posthumous gift.
Is coffee better as it comes, or with flavored syrups and mint leaves and stuff?
Just coffee. Soymilk. No sweetener. I do like some flavors here and there but syrups are weirdness.
<3 a good hearty breakfast like my mom makes but I fail at. lol
aaww... yeah some things in life, only one's mom (or dad) seems to be able to do "just right"...
its a real question you should answer or else your just avoiding it bcuz you dont like truth
"it's"
"you're"
"because"
"don't"
and you don't even have the balls to put your name to this, so now who's afraid of truth, hmm? I give as good as I get, dearie.
Well, that wasn't a very creative answer...
Georg's getting all my spare creativity at the moment, I gotta get this thing DONE.
are they a friend you no well or just an internet person/
"no" ? cmon, at least type it out if you want to waste my time..
When in a Roman, you're wearing a Trojan?
Unless you're both tested clean you'd better be... unless you're like me and allergic to latex, in which case it'd be a different brand ;)
What is love?
Trust and belief, two of the hardest things to ever achieve with another human being.
awhile ago you tweeted that a friend of yours took an overdose. are they ok now?
I sure as fuck hope so, for whatever value of "okay".
Survived, yes. But there's a long road still ahead and that's the part I'm still worried for.
Trust me when I tell you that you'd be trying to punch him through the screen. Imagine the biggest douchebag EVER, and then make them a doctor.
sounds like the last spinal surgeon I had a consult with.
Bizarre situational question - have you ever drummed on your husbands rear? Say, with spoons?
Flesh bongos? LOL... only in joking moments.
Are you clumsy by nature?
I am now, after two serious car crashes and the incipient head injury, broken spine and nerve damage. I wasn't before. So I guess the answer is not by nature, but by happenstance.
Now I'm apt to drop things thanks to losing feeling in my hands, and given I walk with forearm crutches or use a wheelchair I'm not exactly the epitome of grace. I used to go dancing every week... christ i miss that. Hoping with spinal surgery and more rehab I'll regain some of that.
Awww, you hate House? Why? :(
Their handling of an episode which was about celiac disease, which I have. Seriously, fuck them straight no lube for that, we already have enough misunderstanding and weird assumptions, WE DON'T NEED THAT SHIT ADDED TO IT.
How do you cope with all of the things that happen in your life?
One at a time.
I have friends I can fall apart on if I have to, but my pride doesn't appreciate it when i do, so that's rare. A lot gets internalized, not the best thing either. I try to let some of it go with making music or art or writing, when that flows it works out, but again it doesn't always. The art of distraction itself.. I just have to occupy myself enough so that I don't think about it too much, because if I do I'll be useless.
